The Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh

Welcome to the Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh! For more than 20 years, Emmaus has been providing permanent homes, respite care, in-home services, and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities and autism. We are an ecumenical, non-profit organization built upon a vision of people with and without disabilities sharing their lives. In living, working, and breaking bread together, people enjoy fellowship by sharing who they are and what they have with one another.

There are many ways to join Emmaus in our mission. Our website provides you with information about our programs, our staff and board members, employment and volunteer opportunities, making a gift, special events, and Emmaus Community news. Thank you for taking the time to visit!

We invite you to come take a tour and learn more about our Community in person at any time. Please use our online contact form to request additional information!

  • Permanent Homes

Emmaus currently operates nine permanent, community-based homes in neighborhoods throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. In these homes, individuals with intellectual disabilities receive 24-hour support and services.

  • Non-Residential Services

In-home and Respite Services provide an opportunity for individuals to experience greater independence and build friendships, while caregivers have the comfort of knowing their loved one is receiving the highest quality of care and support.

  • Education and Outreach

The Emmaus Community is committed to educating the greater community about the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities. Emmaus also works to build awareness of the organization and its mission and to serve as a voice for the individuals in its care.
